Our reading

For recent activity across the chains one tracker indexes, read x402scan's last-30-days figure. For history, read its all-time figure. Name the source and the window whenever you quote either.

The x402.org strip is the standard's own home-page counter. It names no chain, method or date and shows a rounded figure, so quote it as the page shows it and no more precisely. agenteconomy.to counts a third scope again.

Counts of payments and amounts of money are different questions. A row in one group is never converted into the other.

Our own x402 reading is facilitator transactions sent per day, per chain: an upper bound on settlements, never summed and never lined up against the rows above. Our x402 reading, per chain →

Why the numbers differ

  • They count different things: a payment, a transaction, or an amount of money, and one source states no unit for its value.
  • They cover different chains: every chain a tracker indexes, Base alone, Solana alone, or an unstated set.
  • They cover different windows: all time or the last 30 days. A longer window gives a bigger figure.
  • Each source decides what counts as a payment, for example whether a payment between a seller's own addresses is included. The headline figure does not show that choice.

Figures other trackers publish, quoted with their source and read once a day or once a week. They are not Sato Hub's numbers and are never added together; “unknown” means we hold no reading, never zero. Data CC-BY-4.0 — attribution: data by satohub.ai.

Questions this page answers

Why does x402scan show a different number from x402.org?
Read on 2026-10-13, x402scan showed 2,783,588 payments over the last 30 days on every chain x402scan indexes, and x402.org showed 75.41M transactions over the last 30 days on the x402.org home page, no chain stated. They count different objects, over different chains, with their own definitions, so the figures cannot be lined up or added.
Which x402 volume number should I cite?
Cite the source, the figure and its window together, for example the source's last-30-days figure with the day it was read (this page's latest reading is 2026-10-13). Do not add figures from different sources, and do not compare a payment count with an amount of money.
Is there one x402 total across all sources?
No. The sources overlap, cover different chains and use different definitions, so a total would count the same activity more than once. This page publishes none.

How this was measured

Method
Once a day, each tracker's own headline x402 figure is read from the place it publishes it (x402scan's public stats, the x402.org home page strip, agenteconomy.to's data file) and kept with the definition, chain scope and window the source gives it; nothing is converted, summed or compared across sources.
Window
The latest daily reading of each source, dated per row; a source's window (all time or the last 30 days) is its own.
Data date
MCP call
none — No MCP tool returns another tracker's headline figures; each row links to the source that publishes it.
URL
none — No satohub.ai export carries these third-party figures; read each from the source, as in the recount below.
