56,097 agents are registered under ERC-8004 on Ethereum mainnet, per our check on 2026-11-02. That is the biggest number in this week's Agent Economy Update, and it needs its footnote up front: *registered* means someone wrote an entry to a registry. It does not mean the agent runs, earns, or is anything beyond what its registration file says. Identity is the first rung. Evidence is the rest of the ladder.
Here is the week from our data: the builder library, the chain mix, the Sato Score leaders, and what moved.
ERC-8004: a big registry, a small amount of proof
Our latest read counts 56,097 registered agents on Ethereum mainnet (checked 2026-11-02, 05:25 UTC). What that tells you: a lot of agents have claimed an onchain identity that other agents and apps can look up without a central gatekeeper. What it does not tell you: how many are live, reachable, or doing what they say. A registry entry is self-reported by design.
If you are building an agent that talks to other agents, treat the registry as a lookup, not a reference check. Resolve the identity, then check the thing behind it: an install that works, a contract you can read, activity you can see. How we think about that check is on our ERC-8004 verification page.
The library: 488 tracked, and it's mostly stack
The Sato Hub library tracks 488 resources this week. The category split sums to exactly 488, so this one is a clean census:
- ▸MCP: 144
- ▸API / SDK: 47
- ▸Trading Tool: 40
- ▸Developer Tool: 39
- ▸Data Tool: 36
- ▸Wallet Infrastructure: 35
- ▸Agent Framework: 31 and Skill Repo: 31
- ▸Payment Rail: 24
- ▸DeFi Tool: 20
- ▸Security Tool: 17
- ▸Agent Marketplace: 8
- ▸Onchain Agent: 6
- ▸Agent Launchpad: 5
- ▸Research Tool: 2 and Other: 2
- ▸Research Paper: 1
The take: "the agent economy" in our library is overwhelmingly the stuff you build *with*. MCP servers are the largest category by a wide margin, 144 of 488, close to three in ten. Wallets, payment rails and frameworks form a solid second tier. Only 6 listings are categorized as Onchain Agent, the autonomous things themselves. A framework is not an agent, and a launchpad is not an agent. The supply layer is where the work is happening, and it's where a builder should shop.
If an agent can spend, it needs a wallet (35 listings) and a payment rail (24). Those two rows decide whether a prompt can become an action.
The chain mix: don't add it up
Listings that name each chain:
| Chain | Listings | |---|---| | Base | 170 | | Multichain | 166 | | Ethereum | 126 | | Solana | 121 | | Arbitrum | 62 | | Polygon | 59 | | BNB Chain | 46 | | Unknown | 46 |
Do not sum these and expect 488. A listing can support several chains, so each row is its own count, not a slice of a pie. What you can read off honestly: Base has the most listings that name it, Multichain is close behind, and Solana sits near Ethereum. Forty-six listings say nothing about their chain, and we would rather show you that row than hide it.
Sato Score leaders: liveness, not a grade
The top of the Sato Score this week:
| Resource | Sato Score | |---|---| | Raydium | 95 | | OpenClaw | 92 | | Hermes Agent | 92 | | Coinbase AgentKit | 91 | | BlockRun MCP | 91 | | Olas (Autonolas) | 90 |
All six sit in the High tier. Read that carefully. The Sato Score is a transparency and liveness score: how open, active and checkable a listing is. It is not a safety grade, a quality grade, or a returns grade, and a high score does not mean a product is safe to put funds behind. It means there is a lot of public evidence to check, which is the useful starting point.
What moved this week
New in the library, by date added:
- ▸Hey Research Lab MCP (MCP), 2026-10-26
- ▸Provek (Agent Framework), 2026-10-21
- ▸deBridge DLN (Trading Tool), 2026-10-17
- ▸x402 Preflight (Developer Tool) and Agent Control (Agent Marketplace), both 2026-10-16
- ▸NanoParse (MCP), 2026-10-14
Release activity we noticed in tracked projects: nansen-cli v2.4.0, dstack Verifier v0.6.3 and dstack KMS v0.6.3, chaingpt-claude-skill v1.25.0, lightning-wallet-mcp v1.12.0, and a fresh DefiLlama-Adapters tvlModules release. We are listing these as shipped, per the release pages; we have not tested them for this post, and a version bump is a claim about changes, not proof of them.
What to watch
Three things. Whether the ERC-8004 count keeps climbing, and whether anyone starts publishing how many of those agents answer a request. Whether Onchain Agent stays a thin category while the tooling categories grow, which would say builders are still assembling stacks more than shipping finished agents. And whether the chain rows with "Unknown" shrink as listings document where they run.
Build yours
Most agent tools start you at a blank prompt. Sato starts with the stack: the MCPs, wallets, payment rails and frameworks above, already mapped and scored. Describe the agent you want, and we map what builds it. Build your own crypto agent and join the agent economy at satohub.ai/build.
