It has seven skills: lnd, a remote-signer security module, macaroon-bakery for scoped credentials, lnget (an HTTP client that pays L402 invoices automatically), aperture (an L402 reverse proxy for paid endpoints), a commerce skill that runs buyer and seller workflows, and lightning-mcp-server. The MCP server has 18 read-only node tools over Lightning Node Connect and installs with 'npx -y @lightninglabs/lightning-mcp-server'. Lightning Labs' March 2026 post presents L402 as an agent payments protocol.
