The Model Context Protocol is the open standard for handing an agent a set of tools it can call: the server describes what it offers, the agent discovers that surface at connect time, and neither side needs a bespoke integration written for the other.
It is the most represented standard in this directory by a wide margin, and that is partly a statement about the directory as much as the ecosystem — MCP servers are easy to find and easy to verify, because you can connect to one and see for yourself what it exposes. Treat the count as a floor on adoption, not a measure of it.
MCP: 200 listings, 115 open source and 61 with a commit or release in the last 30 days; top Sato Scores: Hermes Agent (92), BlockRun MCP (91), CoinGecko MCP (89), as of 2026-10-15.

Questions people ask about MCP: the tool interface for agents
- How many projects implement Model Context Protocol?
- 200 live listings declare it as of 2026-10-15, spread across mcp 123, developer tool 12, api / sdk 10, data tool 9. A declaration is recorded from the project's own materials — it is the floor of adoption, not a measurement of it.
- Does declaring Model Context Protocol mean it answers?
- No, and the gap is the point. Declaring costs nothing: a tag, a manifest line, a sentence in a README. Whether an endpoint actually responds is measured separately by daily checks, published per listing, and never folded into this count.
- Where is Model Context Protocol defined?
- In the standard's own documents, not here: MCP specification at https://modelcontextprotocol.io. Sato Hub records which listings implement it and what our checks observed; it does not author the standard and does not certify conformance.
- Are these implementations verified?
- Not by implementing the standard. 200 of the 200 carry a Sato Score — a 0–100 reading of how open, active and verifiable a project is — and 156 publish an install manifest. Neither is an audit, a security review, or a conformance certificate.
- Which of these are open source?
- 115 of 200: Hermes Agent, BlockRun MCP, CoinGecko MCP, NanoParse, minia2a, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Skim, Vybe Solana MCP, DexPaprika MCP Server, Universal Contract AI Interface (UCAI), AlgoVault Quant Signal MCP, BNB Chain MCP and others.
- Which are actively maintained?
- 61 had a commit or release in the last 30 days: Hermes Agent, BlockRun MCP, CoinGecko MCP, NanoParse, OpenAI Codex, minia2a, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Skim, DexPaprika MCP Server, AlgoVault Quant Signal MCP, Zerion, Claude Code and others. Posts on X do not count. Activity is a recency signal, not a quality judgment.
- Which have an earned verification on Sato Hub?
- 100: Hermes Agent, BlockRun MCP, CoinGecko MCP, NanoParse, OpenAI Codex, minia2a, Skim, Vybe Solana MCP, DexPaprika MCP Server, Universal Contract AI Interface (UCAI), AlgoVault Quant Signal MCP, Zerion. An earned check is named as what was checked (install reproduced, endpoint probed, on-chain identity read, reviewed against evidence); none is a safety claim.
- Which run as MCP servers?
- 195: Hermes Agent, BlockRun MCP, CoinGecko MCP, NanoParse, OpenAI Codex, minia2a, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Skim, Vybe Solana MCP, DexPaprika MCP Server, Universal Contract AI Interface (UCAI), AlgoVault Quant Signal MCP and others.
- How is this list ranked?
- MCP is derived from Sato Hub's live records by a stated rule and ordered by Sato Score, a 0–100 measure of how open, active and verifiable each project is. It is not a quality ranking and declares no winner.
