x402: agent payments over HTTP
As of 2026-10-15, x402 (the HTTP 402 payment protocol for agents and APIs, not ITU X.402) has 91 listed tools that say they support it; highest Sato Scores: BlockRun MCP, NanoParse and minia2a.data: JSON · CSV · x402 facilitators

x402 revives the long-dormant HTTP 402 status code as a real payment flow: a server answers a request with what it costs, the caller pays in stablecoins, and the request is retried with proof of payment attached. No account, no API key, no human at a checkout page.
That last part is why it matters for agents specifically. An autonomous process cannot complete a card checkout or click through a signup, but it can settle a payment on its own. x402 is the rail that makes an agent an economic participant rather than something a human has to fund in advance.
x402: 91 listings, 40 open source and 29 with a commit or release in the last 30 days; top Sato Scores: BlockRun MCP (91), NanoParse (89), minia2a (88), as of 2026-10-15.
Why sources disagree
Each tracker counts a different thing (payments or transactions) on a different set of chains, over its own window, with its own filtering. A longer window, more chains or a looser definition gives a bigger figure, so the figures cannot be lined up or added.

Questions people ask about x402: agent payments over HTTP
- How many projects implement x402?
- 91 live listings declare it as of 2026-10-15, spread across api / sdk 16, data tool 14, payment rail 13, mcp 12. A declaration is recorded from the project's own materials — it is the floor of adoption, not a measurement of it.
- Does declaring x402 mean it answers?
- No, and the gap is the point. Declaring costs nothing: a tag, a manifest line, a sentence in a README. Whether an endpoint actually responds is measured separately by daily checks, published per listing, and never folded into this count.
- Where is x402 defined?
- In the standard's own documents, not here: x402 specification at https://x402.gitbook.io/x402. Sato Hub records which listings implement it and what our checks observed; it does not author the standard and does not certify conformance.
- Are these implementations verified?
- Not by implementing the standard. 89 of the 91 carry a Sato Score — a 0–100 reading of how open, active and verifiable a project is — and 43 publish an install manifest. Neither is an audit, a security review, or a conformance certificate.
- Which of these are open source?
- 40 of 91: BlockRun MCP, NanoParse, minia2a, x402, Skim, 0xGasless AgentKit, PulseFeed, ClawRouter (BlockRun), AIBTC MCP Server, Coinbase AgentKit, OpenSea Agent Skill, NOFX and others.
- Which are actively maintained?
- 29 had a commit or release in the last 30 days: BlockRun MCP, NanoParse, minia2a, x402, Bankr, Skim, 0xGasless AgentKit, Zerion, PulseFeed, ClawRouter (BlockRun), AIBTC MCP Server, Exa and others. Posts on X do not count. Activity is a recency signal, not a quality judgment.
- Which have an earned verification on Sato Hub?
- 34: BlockRun MCP, NanoParse, minia2a, x402, Bankr, Skim, 0xGasless AgentKit, Zerion, PulseFeed, AIBTC MCP Server, Exa, Coinbase AgentKit. An earned check is named as what was checked (install reproduced, endpoint probed, on-chain identity read, reviewed against evidence); none is a safety claim.
- Which run as MCP servers?
- 43: BlockRun MCP, NanoParse, minia2a, Skim, Zerion, AIBTC MCP Server, Exa, OpenSea Agent Skill, Coinbase x402 Bazaar (Discovery API + MCP), Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), Agent Payments Protocol (AP2), Trust Wallet Agent Kit (TWAK) and others.
- How is this list ranked?
- x402 is derived from Sato Hub's live records by a stated rule and ordered by Sato Score, a 0–100 measure of how open, active and verifiable each project is. It is not a quality ranking and declares no winner.
